Making of the armed concrete ground floor slab of Amadeo II

22 November 2009 - Comments (0) Construction

Making of the armed concrete ground floor slab of Amadeo II We just finished the first ground floor of Amadeo II. That is the last part of the underground parking work for this side. We are now set to start building external walls with Klimabloc. In the same time, we also finished the underground parking walls of the other side of Amadeo II. The second ground floor will soon follow.

Casting and reinforcement

This part of the ground floor does not have the same thickness neither the same level on all its surface. It is split in 2 parts, one higher below the building, and one lower in front that is planned as green space. We have 2 thicker central beams in the width of the slab and one long central beam in the length, at the junction of the higher and lower parts.

Pouring concrete

Installing reinforcement on the slab is a lengthy and demanding job. Comparing to that, pouring concrete is certainly the fun part of making the slab. It is also the most impressive.

We started pouring concrete in the central beams of the slab first as it is the thickest part of the slab.

Together with the ground floor slab, we were doing the stairs climbing from the underground parking to the ground floor.

In the same time, we progressed the underground parking walls of Amadeo II left part (A3). Those walls are now finished, allowing us to soon start the ground floor slab of A3.
