Amadeo II construction update: roof cover and windows
|06 June 2010 - Comments (0)||Construction|
After a week delay because of constant rain, the work on the roof cover restarted. Amadeo II roof will be finished next week. The installation of the Monarperm 500 breather membrane has been completed and installation of Decra-Octava roof tiles is ongoing. Work on the interior walls continues and we started to install windows.
Structural work on the roof
Before starting the roof cover, we had to finish the structure of the roof, the gable walls and the edges of the interior walls below roof. We also have 4 mansard walls for the aesthetic of the building. We also finished the chimneys and ventilation channels and placed insulation around them to prevent condensation.

Gable walls, mansard walls and roof junctions, done with concrete are all passed with 2 layers of hydro-insulation. We use Bitum Multigum, a combined polymers based material that is passed with a brush. Once dry, it creates a resistant and elastic waterproof layer.

Installation of the galvanized iron
Once passed with the waterproofing layers, mansard walls and roof junctions and completely covered with galvanized iron sheets.

All connections between the galvanized iron elements are soldered. This is the most durable solution. In addition, all galvanized iron elements are later passed with a primer and a protective white paint to extend their longevity.

Installation of the roof breather membrane
The roof cover for Amadeo II is done with Decra-Octava. Before the roof tiles, the breather membrane Monarperm 500 is installed.

Installation of the windows
We started the installation of the first windows on Amadeo II. We use 6-chambers PVC profiles with integrated rolling shutters from Roloplast. We will continue the installation later next week.
